[LarrysList] Checking on older hams

GM Larry ----- Four of our lunch-bunch Hams are widowers living alone and two are not in good health. One mentioned that they should make contact every morning to be sure all were accounted for. Now that’s an excellent idea. Why not use one of those 2M repeaters that sits idle every day? Some of us who are out, about and agile could check up on those who don’t check in.

Many churches and service clubs have calling lists to check on members, but Hams should watch out for fellow Hams.

It seems there was just such a group in the Kansas City area 20 years ago, so this is not reinventing the wheel.

If you participate in or know of such a group, please let Larry’s List know about it.

Speaking as an older ham, this is a good idea. Is any club doing something like this now?
